Welcome to the
Center for Advising
Guiding students through the college experience
Mission
The MSU Center for Advising is exploring new strategies that provides comprehensive, proactive, and engaged advising and mentorship to students.
Along with course scheduling, Student Success Coordinators emphasize academic and social success strategies, planning, coaching, career and personal discovery, development of interpersonal skills, and education regarding institutional policies and procedures. Using a student-centered approach, coordinators promote student success in a direct partnership with the Division of Student Affairs and the DOS office.
Vision
The MSU Center for Advising will serve as a designated advocate for new freshmen at MSU.
The Center will provide a wholistic student interaction that supports students as they make their transition to college. Through proactive and engaged advising, students will learn to navigate their respective programs of study and the transition to college while developing skills that promote responsibility, self-discipline, critical thinking skills, resilience, and determination. This will help students learn and grow as they build their academic and social foundations for collegiate persistence and success.
